Qur’anic Nazm

This is an extraction from the prolegomena of Imam Farahi’s commentary on the Holy Qur’an. It discusses his viewpoint of nazm (sequence and coherence) in the Holy Qur’an, and quotes many early scholars who maintained that the Book is adorned with inter-relationship and correspondence of verses and surahs. It also discusses why Farahi considers it of overriding importance to interpret the text of the Holy Qur’an in the light of nazm.

Attributes of God

The Islamic faith prescribes that an attempt to know the person of God is bound to result in utter failure. He it is Who knows everything but man does not. However, though he is short of knowledge about God’s person, he can get to know the Lord by assimilating His attributes, all of which have been enlisted in the divine word that the Almighty Himself revealed. This article is an attempt by Mr Javed Ahmad Ghamidi to comprehensively cover all these attributes, as divulged by the Holy Qur’an.

Some Popular Misconceptions of the Muslims

This is a brief but effective exposition of some popular misconceptions that the Muslims of today have fallen prey to. Because these misconceptions are sometimes validated by arguments, the author sets it upon himself to analyze these arguments in the light of the Holy Qur’an – the criterion of truth in Islamic faith – to help us form the correct opinion in this regard.

‘Ulum al-Qur’an – An Introduction to the Sciences of the Qur’an

The corpus of the history of revelation, collection, arrangement and transmission of the Holy Qur’an and the interpretative principles generally constitute what is termed ‘Ulum al-Qur’an (Qur’anic Sciences). A number of great Muslim scholars have inked many methodical works on these sciences, which are, of course, difficult to make out for common Muslims. Ahmad Von Denffer has written the above captioned book to give some insight into them to the common Muslims especially young generation. A short book review of his work is presented here with an aim to elicit the interest of the readers for an in-depth study.
