Why is it that Islam discourages women to attend funerals ?

Islam has not stopped women from attending funerals at all. In fact, they can pray for the dead just as men do so. However, it has not held them responsible since this may become burdensome for them at times. Islam's temperament is to give as much relief as is possible to women.
