Sūrah ‘Alaq

In this commentary of the Sūrah ‘Aalaq, Amīn Ahsan Islāhī has made a very valuable contribution to the exegetical literature of Muslims. Apart from probing the first revelation claim regarding this sūrah and explicating meanings of some significant words like ‘iqrā, he has given a fresh insight into the interconnectedness of the sūrah’s verses.

Sūrah Āl-i ‘Imrān (42-63)

This is an annotated translation of twenty verses of Sūrah Ālay-‘Imrān by Jāved Ahmad Ghāmidī. These verses narrate the anecdote of God’s communication with Mary regarding her purity and exaltedness, and her divinely ordained pregnancy. This is followed by Jesus’ ministry, his earnest calls to the Israelites, their ruthless rejection of his message and the punishment of ignominy stamped upon them. Finally, the Israelites of the Prophet’s times are invited to invoke, along with believers, God’s wrath for whoever is on the wrong side.

Ma‘rūf and Munkar: Good and Evil

This brief exposition of Farāhī is an attempt to sum up the possible means of identifying what is good and what is evil. In addition, this also tries to underpin the overall divine wisdom behind giving plain verdicts on certain issues while observing silence on others.

True Muslim, Mu’min, Mujāhid, and Muhājir

This is a comprehensive text of different narratives attributed to the Holy Prophet (sws) on the above captioned topic along with its requisite explanation by Moiz Amjad.

CII, Divorce Laws, and Argumentum ad Baculum

Asif Iftikhar analyzes various aspects of the on-going national debate on divorce laws.

How to Improve our Daily Prayers?

This short essay by Abdullah Rahim comprises a set of useful suggestions and recommendations aimed at improving our daily prayers.
