The Lawful and the Unlawful

What is allowed and what is not is, of course, a very pertinent question for every believer. Since what we do in this world has ultimate bearing on the afterlife, we cannot afford being carefree in this regard. Jāved Ahmed Ghāmidī explains his understanding on the issue in the light of related Qur’ānic verses. This definitely merits serious reading before we form any view about how we should see this world and whatever it contains.

Sūrah Dahr

This is Amīn Ahsan Islāhī’s commentary on the sūrah. He, besides general expository notes, has many fine comments to share with his readers, especially because of his specific methodology of text reading. Wherever he has differed with received opinions, he has given ample reasons to justify his viewpoint. Primary Sources of Hadīth Study Key to each discipline lies in the comprehension of primary sources, contends Amīn Ahsan Islāhī. He outlines, indeed concurs in, the traditional view on primary sources of Hadīth literature and then goes on to underpin their distinctive features and salient characteristics.

The Prophet (sws) does not have the Authority to Prohibit What God has kept Lawful

This is a comprehensive text of different narratives attributed to the Holy Prophet (sws) on the above captioned topic along with its requisite explanation by Moiz Amjad.
