Implementation of the Sharī‘ah (Divine Law)

Ghāmidī reflects on the ideology of people who believe in using force to implement the sharī‘ah. He, while criticising their stance, presents arguments for his viewpoint that Islam enjoins a democratic framework for running the state affairs and that education and exhortation are the only means available to masses to bring about the desirable change in the Muslim society.

Sūrah Fajr

This commentary of Sūrah Fajr by Amīn Ahsan Islāhī is replete with academic and stylistic discussions. The exegete, capitalizing on the research work of his mentor, has contributed many significant explanations for the better understanding of the oaths pledged in the beginning of the sūrah. Even where he is retracing footsteps of earlier commentators, he has added force to the commetnary by virtue of his veritable command of the text of the Qur’ān.

Fundamental Principles of Understanding Ahādīth

This is indeed a succinct and pithy enunciation of a very grand topic in Islamic sciences. Islāhī has treated the issue academically without doing the slightest damage to its religious sanctity.
