Qur’anic Imagery of Doomsday and Resurrection

The crux of the message that the Holy Qur’an conveys to mankind is that this worldly life is not an end in itself. It is a prelude to the life in the Hereafter. Our ultimate fate depends upon what we do in the present life. We therefore should not be reckless. Instead, we ought to prepare for the world to come. This is the plain message that has been put across by this divine book in so many beautiful and majestic styles. This essay probes into these styles and spells out the technical methods that the Qur’an has employed to effectively communicate its message.

The Directives of Fasting

Fasting in Ramadan is obligatory for the Muslims. It is essential that its directives and injunctions be grasped, and also one should have a clear perception of the objective of fasting. In this article, Ghamidi dwells in detail on these issues.

Preaching Responsibilities

The Holy Qur’an has prescribed different preaching responsibilities for Muslims in different capacities. Each Muslim is not enjoined to propagate the truth of Islam in one predetermined form. For example, Muslim scholars have different preaching duties from those of common Muslims. This is what Mr Javed Ahmed Ghamidi maintains. In this essay, he describes these duties very lucidly under separate headings.

Reaping the Blessings of Ramadan

Ghamidi outlines the common wrongdoings of fasting and describes how one can best overcome them in order to reap the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan.
