Linguistic Resources of Interpretation

This is a very academic though brief exposition by Imam Farahi on the nature of available resources which commentators consult for interpreting the word of God. After quoting the assurance given by the Lord for safety of the Qur’anic text, and promised explication thereof, Farahi goes on to investigate disciplines like syntax, logic, Islamic jurisprudence, meter and rhetoric which form part of the linguistic resources that help in interpreting the Qur’an..

The Dealings and Practices of God

Javed Ahmad Ghamidi maintains, on the authority of the Holy Qur’an, that there is no way to know God except through an appreciation of His attributes and how He deals with His creation. Hence the focus of the present article is God’s dealings and practices with human beings. These include the trial of life, provision of divine guidance, divine edicts beyond human capacity, rise and fall of nations, repentance and reward and punishment.
