There is a Hadīth which says that the doors of Hell are closed during the last ten days of Ramadān. Does that mean that if a person dies during these last ten days of Ramadān, he goes straight to Heaven ?
Answer: The Hadīth you have referred to symbolically depicts the fact that God’s mercy becomes more abundant in these days for a person who asks His forgiveness. People will enter Heaven or Hell after an account has been taken from them on the Day of Judgement. Till then, the spirits of the deceased reside will in Barzakh.
